The REAL Program at Norwalk Community College provides services for students who will benefit from additional support and guidance during their enrollment at NCC. Students will receive a comprehensive array of year round resources to help them with their personal, academic, and social needs, all of which are critical to academic success and graduation.

ORIENTATION
Students will receive year round support and guidance.
REFERRALS TO ON CAMPUS RESOURCES

All students will be properly referred to different campus resources to ensure they have all the help they need.
ONE-ON-ONE ACADEMIC ADVISING & COACHING
Students will have a meeings with the program coordinator on a weekly basis.
OUR OPEN DOOR POLICY
The REAL Program has an open door policy which means students are encouraged to reach out to the REAL Program staff at any time via chat, WebEx, or calls.
WORKSHOP SESSIONS
The program will offer a variety of online workshops to expose students with the necessary skills to succeed in college. All workshops will be offered via WebEx.
END OF THE YEAR CELEBRATION!
Students will enjoy an End of Year Celebration upon successful completion of the program.
SPEAKERS
Guest speakers will be invited to teach about a variety of topics.
The REAL program is now having workshop sessions via Webex!
Simply check your NCC Comment email. The Program Coordinator will send you an invitation. Then when it is time to join the meeting, simply check on the link below JOIN WEBEX MEETING. Then click on Join via web installed app.




THE NCC MENTORING MATTERS PROGRAM
Students that are accepted into The REAL Program will also participate in NCC Mentoring Matters. The mentoring component of the program is designed to enhance and broaden the academic and social experiences of the students by partnering them with professional and peer mentors. Mentoring will provide students with the opportunity to connect with professionals and peers in a one-on-one and/or group setting at Norwalk Community College. The mentoring component will focus on college readiness, academic success, community involvement and the importance of graduation.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
SEE IF YOU CAN APPLY FOR THE REAL PROGRAM!
STUDENTS WILL BE ACCEPTED INTO THE REAL PROGRAM IN FALL OF 2020

CONSIDER APPLYING IF YOU ARE:
​

A permanent or Documented U.S. Resident (DACA etc. are welcome)
-
Admitted to Norwalk Community College in the fall as a first-time student grading directly from high school
-
A full-time enrollment at Norwalk Community College taking a minimum of 12 credits in the Fall and Spring semester
-
A student that will have a successful interview with the Program Coordinator
-
A student that has demonstrated financial need and has a desire to succeed
